Nasri: Gunners Never Out Of The Title Race

Arsenal's depleted side were able to edge Manchester United 2-1 on Saturday. The result was massive, lifting some pressure from the shoulders of Arsene Wenger after many had accused him of cultivating a side full of young, talented losers.

Samir Nasri has impressed in flashes since signing from Marseille in the summer, but really made a breakthrough at the weekend. His wonderful performance and crucial brace were invaluable to the Gunners in their time of need, with strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie on the sidelines.

Now, the 21-year-old has insisted that he's 'honoured' to be in the position to blast Arsenal back into a title race he believes they were never really out of.

We’ve had a tough week," he admitted, "But we couldn’t have dreamed of a better result.

"Maybe we don’t have the experience of Liverpool, Manchester United or Chelsea - but this was a great answer to show how mature we’ve become.

"The title? Yes, we are back in it. We always thought we were in it anyway. We know what we can do and we can definitely achieve the title this season."

Giving his full backing to wily gaffer Arsene Wenger, he added: "Arsene is one of the best managers in the world and it’s a great honour for me to play for him.

“The criticism has been unfair...just you wait until the end of the season and we'll see how things turn out."
