Arsene Wenger says Arsenal forwards Adebayor and Walcott suffered 'very bad injuries' in the 2-1 defeat at Stoke City today.
Adebayor was substituted by Carlos Vela after 73 minutes of the loss at the Britannia Stadium after picking up a couple of knocks.
Walcott had only been introduced to the game from the bench in the second half, but was forced to leave the field in the dying minutes, carried off on a stretcher with a shoulder injury.
Although Wenger would not confirm the severity of the players' problems, he implied that they would not return to the side for several weeks.
"We have very bad injuries to Adebayor and Walcott, and there is (Bacary) Sagna," Wenger said.
"One or two have knocks as well. It is the kind of game we played today and when you are a little bit short on sharpness, you are less agile and get out of tackles less quickly."
With a red card for Robin Van Persie as well, it seems the cost of this game can be counted in more than points for the Gunners.
