Young Randall probably going on loan?

Now when Arsenal lost in Carling Cup, Wenger is going to set some of the youngsters on loan.

19-year-old Arsenal starlet Mark Randall could be set to leave the Emirates on loan, now that the club's Carling Cup charge has been halted.

Burnley disposed of Arsenal at Turf Moor on Tuesday evening convincingly by two goals to nil, to set up a semi-final appearance.

The Championship side had already done away with a close to full strength Chelsea side a round previous, and took the Young Guns to school with a resounding win this time around.

The exit of Arsene Wenger's experimental side from the competition may spell the end of first team opportunities for some of the club's fringe players, who may now be better served by loan deals elsewhere.

Midfielder Mark Randall received part of his footballing education at Burnley last season, and could be ready to move temporarily again.

His reputation is growing under Wenger, who has already offered the Milton Keynes native a berth in Arsenal's Premier League squad.

The Frenchman rates Randall as highly as the precocious Jack Wilshere, and there is sure to be no shortage of suitors for his services in the next transfer window.

Wenger told the press: “He has as much as Jack Wilshere. I think he is a little bit more of a late developer but he is exceptional.”
